Meet our Executive Director

Our membership greatly honors and respects their privilege to sustainably harvest, process and provide seafood to the public. FKCFA is dedicated to representing Monroe County's 1,200 fishing famlies and helping them to preserve their culture and heritage.   For decades, these families have preserved one of South Florida's most brilliant traditions. Today, there are a vairety of issues which threaten the future of a viable commercial fishing industry in Monroe County including (but not limited to): Working waterfront, over-regulation, increasing operating costs, hurricanes and import dependance.

I am proud to represent Monroe County’s commercial fishing industry and I will continue to seek the opportunity to speak with as many stakeholders as possible.  If there is anything that I can do to improve FKCFA, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Scott E. Zimmerman M.Sc.,

Executive Director
